PG Plaza Day Center
The PG Plaza Day Center is a daytime shelter for persons who are homeless, near
homeless, or in economic need. Begun in 2016, the Day Center operates under the
umbrella of Congregations United for Compassion and Empowerment. The Day Center
operates at the University Christian Church on Adelphi Road.
Several churches in Prince George’s County volunteer to contribute and serve
meals. Our congregation prepares and serves 36 meals every 3d Thursday of each
month. This is our 5th year of contributing to this great work.
Lynn Beller is our coordinator.
In keeping with COVID-19 safety precautions, the Day Center currently provides:
Take-out food between 2 pm and 4 pm each Tuesday and Thursday; limited laundry and
shower facilities, toiletries, socks, t-shirts, underwear, counseling, social services support, legal services, and spiritual support.
