| 50th Anniversary Celebration, July 3-4, 2010 -- We invite you to join us in celebrating our 50 years of service to the Lord. We will have a picnic on our property from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, July 3. On Sunday, July 4, we will have classes at 9:30 am; worship at 10:30 pm; lunch from noon to 2 pm; and a rededication service at 2 pm. We will dismiss about 3 pm so that our families and visitors can join the Fourth of July observances on Sunday evening. Pancho and Lera Hobbes will be our special guests, with Pancho preaching on Sunday morning. Pancho and Lera are "alumni" of University Park. They have served as missionaries in Guatemala, and Pancho has preached and taught since their return to the States. Please watch this space for further details. |

| Service Men and Women -- Like so many other churches, University Park has members of the congregation and relatives of members in military service around the globe. Please keep them and all U.S. and Allied military personnel in your prayers. |
| 2010 Graduation Banquet Saturday, May 15 -- As is our tradition, we joyfully observe high school and university graduations of our members of all ages. Last year (2009) we celebrated graduation with seven students from the University Park Church of Christ - two with high school diplomas, three with bachelor's degrees, and two with master's degrees. | Annual Memorial Day Picnic -- Our 2010 event has been announced. All are welcome. |
| Vacation Bible School, July 24 - 28, 2010 -- Please make plans to attend our VBS. This year, the theme is "Egypt -- Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace." There is no charge. We have classes for all ages. |
| Annual "Night Before Labor Day Cookout," Sunday, September 5, 2010, after evening services. -- We hope to see you in at our cookout. | International Day, Sunday, October 17, 2010 is our annual observance and celebration of the diversity of the church throughout the world and, in particular, at University Park. Jerry and Jean Reynolds again will be our special guests. At our International Day in 2009, we had 261 in the morning service. Nearly everyone stayed to enjoy foods from around the world prepared by our members. Please join us. |
| Watchnight Service, New Year's Eve-- This tradition at University Park goes back to the beginnings of the congregation. At midnight, we close with a prayer. Plan to join us for a peaceful, enjoyable, and worshipful evening. | 2011 Ladies Day: Saturday, April 30, 2011-- Join us for our next Ladies Day. Lunch and babysitting will be provided. Registration and continental breakfast are always free. We have just held the 2010 Ladies Day. Rita Johnson of the Suitland Road Church of Christ presented lessons on the theme "On Butterfly Wings" from 2 Corinthians 5:17. Her presentations are available on the download page of our website. |
